Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese, room temperature

  • 6-6½ cups powdered sugar

  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1/8 teaspoon table salt

In a the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with whisk attachment, whisk butter on high speed until pale and fluffy. Reduce speed to low and add 6 cups powdered sugar slowly. Add vanilla and table salt. Increase mixer speed and mix on medium high until well combined, scraping down the bowl as necessary. Add cream and additional sugar as needed until you reach your desired consistency.
