It’s Halloween Eve!

The newly remodeled website is live and just in time for the 2021 preseason.

As always, we have 30 days of horror movies available specially curated for you on streaming media. This year we added Shudder to our regular lineup of Netflix, Prime, and Hulu. If you are new to Shudder, you can grab a free trial week from Shudder.com. No, we are not sponsored by Shudder. We’re not sponsored by anyone (notice the absence of ads?). We just think it is a great channel for horror fans and with a monthly subscription option, you can start and stop as many times as you like.

There are a total of 33 films on the line up owing to my indecision over the Nicholas Cage films. Willy’s Wonderland wasn’t even on my radar until now. Somewhere between honoring the much awarded Mandy and paying homage to H.P. Lovecraft, I decided to make it a “choose your own adventure” and put all three on a weekend just in case you want to go for the triple feature.. Nobody judge you.

I am always amazed at how much is out there in the world of horror. Only nine films have been in a previous moviefest. The first timers include oldies like Candyman, The Fog, An American Warewolf in London and the classic Rear Window. But most of the preseason selections are from the last two years. And that’s pretty good considering the dumpster fire that was 2020. We owe a lot to these streaming giants for keeping the horror going when everything else stopped.

Naturally, we tossed in a few perennial favorites.

The new site format gives you several options to track our moviefest recommendations: an Event List, a Calendar, and the Quick Look with our skull ratings. So fire up your remote and get ready for the Halloween season because it starts with September, Halloween Eve.
